Implant Placement
The implant placement procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The dentist makes an incision in the gum to expose the bone, then drills a hole and inserts the implant post. The gum is then stitched back over the implant. solosmarts
Healing and Osseointegration
After the implant is placed, a healing period of several months is required to allow the bone to integrate with the implant. This process, called osseointegration, is crucial for the stability of the implant.
Abutment Placement
Once osseointegration is complete, a minor surgery is performed to attach the abutment to the implant post. The gum tissue is then allowed to heal around the abutment.
